An Investigation on the Relation between Mofavvaze Ideas and Ibn Arabi's Shiite Followers about Creation

Regarding Creation The Mufavazi were a group of extremist Shia who, although they acknowledged the created and contingent nature of the Prophet of Islam and the Imams, believed that God created them at the beginning of creation and then entrusted them with the tasks of creation, sustenance, and governance of the world. On the other hand, Shia philosophers following Ibn Arabi proposed the theory of "Muhammadan Reality," asserting that God created an entity to manifest Himself and to reveal Himself in existence, and then brought the world into being from that entity. They refer to this first being as "Muhammadan Reality," which corresponds to the First Intellect in the thought system of the Peripatetics. Although these two theories share some similarities at first glance, their essential differences far outweigh their apparent similarities. This research highlights these differences and similarities.
